The new Executive Committee for PWG of Zurich has met now five times in three months. We're still forming as a team. Creating our strategy. Defining what we want to be proud of when our terms are finished. How this club can influence the community here.
It's been a lot of work for everyone. Learning our roles while implementing normal club activities. And trying to get a forward look into our future. I admit that at first the workload has required more time than I expected. There have been moments when I wondered what I'd really agreed to in reality and if I could manage it with my business.
Yet two things increasingly inspire me about it:
1. The people on the team. Such energy. Rarely immediate agreement on any issue, yet an ability to debate and finally come to a decision. Over time I want to show each person on the team in a photo that illustrates how I see them. The photos above show Aurorita, Karin, Kim and Helen. Personalities shining through.
2. We are making fast progress. We have a new mission statement, organizational structure, strategic priorities and -- soon -- clear goals, already brainstormed. Our website has already started to evolve. We've published a newsletter. Changed meeting venues. And by month-end will have cleaned-up a database to make all of our activities easier.
I have a growing intuition that our time together as a team may produce those rare shining moments in life: the ones where you worked hard, had fun, and together achieved a passionately shared goal about something you believe makes a meaningful difference to others.
