I had given my garden box the best start I knew how last month. Then the game became one of patience to see how the change would take root. Meanwhile, I focused on other things: my trip to the USA. And upon my return, I found a leap of growth! No flowers yet, but I see little buds on the lilies (first green sprouts after the deep red plants). I checked weeds and water.
The next few weeks should be fun to discover what blooms.
This post could serve as an analogy for parenthood. My kids just finished their school year and a lot of growth has occurred. Many times this growth took place when I was doing other things, but I did my best to help them get started. Not sure what will "flower," but I see the buds there. My biggest concern is that my daughter is a "preteen" now -- I fear there may be a lot of "weeds" to check in the coming years ...
