It's Sunday night. I admit I'm sitting at my computer drinking a prosecco while vegetables simmer on the stove. In a few minutes, I will stir fry chicken. (Yes, it's already after 9:00 p.m. here, but fine for me. I like to eat late.)
Today was rainy. In fact all weekend was rainy. But a nice excuse this afternoon for a hot chocolate and chat with two women friends who also happen to be Professional Women's Group of Zurich leaders. Friendship and purpose mixed. We shared stresses and priority dilemmas. Solved a few and moaned about others. I walked away feeling that moments like these are a real gift in my life.
And then it was back to the computer!
I spent the week at the computer. Client writing deadlines. Creating workshop visuals. Sending emails. Checking web stats. Always summarizing one event while developing another. Thankfully our team members added their normal humor, strong-willed ideas and real enjoyment of the work despite deadlines.
This week my co-Facilitator Sandra and I finally had a much needed business direction discussion. I felt instinctively that it was important. New directions and commitments for both of us. Feels right and makes me more creative - a long-term relationship still nurtured through stages of change.
And I managed some lunches with friends that were actually little oases of relaxation midweek, even when I didn't think I "had time for them."
Blues playing on my stereo. Prosecco in hand. Smell of fresh food in my apartment. Me, myself and I for a few minutes before the week breaks into chaos and Grand Prix races tomorrow!
Time to cook! Cheers!
