It seems that my business follows me anywhere I go. I think of ideas by the lake, ponder decisions about resources or employees while giving my garden box a Spring hair cut, and even now while grilling dinner, I'm blogging a few bits between turning pork chops.
It's not exactly work-a-holism. It's that my most creative ideas often come in spare moments, when I'm not working on a deadline.
At brunch with friends today, we shared examples of how important it is that business owners stay hungry for growth and being on top of their games, even after years of previous success. If leaders become complacent with profits and long client relationships - and stop listening to feedback - they can fall in danger of the world changing imperceptably around them, of becoming less relevant. The main example was from my friend. I've seen it, too, and realize I will always need to be energetic.
Of course I also heard myself say that I "might" work a little during this long Easter holiday weekend. (We are off for Good Friday and Easter Monday.) Need to rethink that one. Entrepreneurs need breaks to stay healthy, too.
Plus I know I'll be suprised by some great idea that pops into my head between devouring chocolate rabbits.
